Top beauty entrepreneurs Veronica Odeka, Kehinde Smithand Vanessa Onwughalu shared the secrets to owning and profiting in the beauty industry at a recent event.

The trio; Veronica Odeka of Vane Beauty, Kehinde Smith ofMy Lash Extensionz and Vanessa Onwughalu of Taos Cosmetics hosted a question and answer session at The Beauty Mixer event held at House Of Tara revealing the intricacies of the business.

Stressing the need to save especially where the plan is to own one's brand, Vanessa Onwughalu of Taos Cosmetics shared how she saved every penny she owned including the ones she was gifted towards growing her business, noting that she ploughed every profit back into the business.

Veronica Odeka of Vane Beauty praised the power of social media especially Instagram and referrals as one of the best ways to grow in the beauty business. When she launched the Vane Beauty brand rolling out a line of nail lacquer she mentioned she started off selling to friends and family as well as used posts on Instagram to amplify sales which came at no cost to the business.

She encouraged beauty entrepreneurs, bloggers, MUAs etc to identify what they are good at and highlight that in every way. If you are good at blending, do that well, do it different products, use other brands to show the different ways you can do this well she says.

Kehinde Smith also shared insights about growing a beauty business in Nigeria making notes of how important quality of products and services play out as one to keep customers coming back to the brand.

The entrepreneurs shared their experiences about starting out their business and constantly staying relevant by keeping up with advancements, making great use of social media, word of mouth amongst other bits to grow their businesses.
