When Halima Babangida married Alhaji Auwal Lawal Abdullahi on Friday May 12, 2017, the whole of Minna stood still for the flamboyant, rich ceremony.
Nigeria's political elite gathered for the celebration and it is reported that about 13 helicopters brought various guests to the grand party.

And best believe that's what Halima did with the brilliant, gorgeously-detailed white gown she wore for the occasion!
The dress was designed by Deola Sagoe who has now shared pictures from the fitting.

According to the designer in one of the Instagram posts, the outfit is "a lavish embroidered lace Princess cut dress made up of a floaty ethereal skirt overlay over a solid embroidered column dress."

In another post, she describes the veil as "a captivating hanging grape vine style veil with a pearl encrusted edge over a lavish Princess Style wedding dress"
Guests at Halima's wedding include former president Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience among many, many others.
