Lagos Fashion Week

Calling all fashion lovers to take part in the next installment for legendary fashion show, Lagos Fashion Week. Fashion in Nigeria can be stunted due to the lack of definitive seasons. LFW wants to combat that by giving designers a chance to showcase their A/W during these very special presentations.

What is Lagos Fashion Week?

Lagos Fashion Week (formerly known as Lagos Fashion and Design Week) is a multi-day fashion week held in Lagos, Nigeria. Founded in 2011 by Omoyemi Akerele, CEO of Style House Files Creative Agency, it provides a platform for buyers, media and fashion enthusiasts to view collections from leading designers from Nigeria and across Africa. Lagos Fashion Week has also expanded its scope of works, providing advocacy for the industry with government and investors, offering industry master-classes and incubation support for emerging talent and supporting all parts of the fashion industry value-chain to achieve their full potential.
The Autumn/ Winter presentations return
From the 23 to the 25 March 2018, Lagos Fashion Week  (#LFWNG) formerly known as Lagos Fashion and Design Week (LFDW), in partnership with Heineken Nigeria, FETS Wallet, Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Garment Care and Style House Files (SHF) will host a 3-Day Series of Fashion Presentations at The Wings - Oando. #LFWNG will also launch Fashion Focus Fund x Fets Wallet to support emerging designers.
The A/W presentations, which was introduced last year, speaks to African designers who are already creating collections for both traditional fashion seasons of Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter and are seeking a global audience and customer base. It also speaks to Lagos Fashion Week’s commitment to catalysing the African Fashion industry ecosystem and providing greater avenues for commercial success for designers based on the continent.
The venue for the A/W presentations is The Wings - Oando, the event center equally as dedicated to thriving commerce as is it to indigenous culture and art with the awareness to create aesthetically and consciously stimulating experiences for their esteemed tenants and guests.
This year’s presentation will take an intimate salon-style format, the collection showcase will be followed by a client-designer reception adopting the ‘see now, buy now’ model that allows clients shop or order straight from presentations.
