Horcelie Sinda Wa Mbongo discovered that she was HIV positive from birth at the age of 11 and it would change her life forever.
Fast forward 10 years later, the now 22-year-old has been crowned the winner of the 2017 Edition of Miss Congo UK and plans to return to Congo to carry on campaigns on HIV and AIDS.

“I’m happy I’ve won at least something in my life. My story has warmed people’s hearts and that’s the most important thing,” she says.
Originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Horcelie, is studying for a fine arts degree in London.
